**Risk Practitioner**:Inside**IR35**
**Contract Term: 4 Months - Possible Extension***

**Location: Blackpool or Manchester (Hybrid)**
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:
- Run an effective welfare system that enables people to achieve financial independence by providing assistance and guidance into employment
- Increase saving for, and security in later life
- Create a fair and affordable welfare system which improves the life chances of children
- Deliver outstanding services to our customers and claimants
- Deliver efficiently: transform the way we deliver our services to reduce costs and increase productivity
**As a **R**isk Practitioner your main responsibilities would be**:
- Management of Risk to deliver risk transformation.
The following activity will be required:
- Establish key stakeholders impacting on risk activity - Business Continuity and Resilience, DWP Risk, Finance and Security, Legal etc
- Understand 'to be' risk standards, policies, processes and analyse current activities against those
Use gap analysis to suggest recommendations to feed into Risk strategy and capability improvement activity and overall action plans to resolve gaps
- Review Gold contract risk scorecards and provide assurance and recommendations for improvement
- Maintain risk registers whilst ensuring the outcome of workshops and interviews is accurately reflected.
- Ensure that risks are kept up to date and that aggregated risks are identified and escalated where necessary including liaison with other Risk Practitioners.
- Assist with the development and review of Risk Management products and standard templates, work with managers to help identify, assess, manage, review, monitor, report and communicate key risks which could affect business aims and objectives.
- Analyse risk data to produce reports and briefings to support and inform managers. Facilitate workshops and ensure that risks are translated throughout the department.

- Experience in analysing and advising on Organisational risk
- A recognised Risk Accreditation
- Excellent Stakeholder Management Skills
- Ability to influence
- Planning and Organisation skills
