**Social Work Vacancy: Motivational Interviewing Practitioner**

NonStop Care is currently working with a Good Ofsted Local authority seeking an experienced social worker for a children and families Motivational Interviewing Practitioner vacancy. This authority was the pioneer who revolutionised a new approach to socialcare through their Family Safeguarding Model. This identified ways to keep children safe at home rather that putting them into care (as long as they are safe).

As a Motivational Interviewing Practitioner will design, develop and deliver a Motivational Interview strategy and programme to Family Safeguarding local authorities including training, coaching and ongoing support and guidance to practitioners, managersand multi-agency teams. You will additionally facilitate learning and build confidence with staff in the use of Motivational Interview and strengths-based approaches when working with children, young people and families. It will include stakeholder involvementand management across various authorities and partnership agencies to shape these strategies and programmes.

Here you will have the flexibility to lead workforce culture change to new ways of working across multiple organisations, being an advocate of MI across the partnership, leading and promoting best practice.
Positively influencing senior leaders, managers and practitioners at all levels to develop an MI culture across various local authorities providing expert challenge using MI techniques to senior leaders where MI leadership values are not upheld.

**Requirements**:

- Qualified to degree level or equivalent (e.g., social work, psychology, teaching)
- Evidence of professional training and/or qualification in MI (e.g., APT/MINT)
- Level 5 qualified coach/mentor
- Highly experienced in using Motivational Interviewing practice with local authorities, partner agencies, service users to deliver change
- Substantial practical experience of using MI in a professional counselling relationship
- Excellent understanding of MI and strengths-based principles and practices
- Knowledge of using MI in children's social care
- Expert in safeguarding processes and procedures across local authorities, various partnership agencies and different roles
- Proven ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to a senior level
