**Kitchen Assistant/Afternoon Cook**

**Hours: 30 (Monday to Sunday) 7am to 2pm or 2pm to 7pm**

**Salary: £11.00 to £11.75 per hour**

**Location: Minehead Nursing Home, Periton Road, Minehead, Somerset, TA24 8DT**

Our team at Minehead Nursing Home are looking to recruit a friendly and enthusiastic kitchen assistant to assist with delivering quality meals to our residents in the care home. This is a perfect opportunity to gain some experience within the kitchen or perhaps the development of a new career in catering. As the saying goes - ‘food is the way to the heart’; and you’ll be helping to ensure that our residents feel full and satisfied.

**Responsibilities of the Kitchen Assistant**:
As a Kitchen Assistant; you will be taking an active role in supporting the Head Chef with the preparation and delivery of meals for residents. As well as preparing fresh ingredients for various meals, you will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen area that adheres to both Health and Safety regulations and the exemplary Minehead Nursing Home standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen environment
- Cleaning all crockery, cutlery and food preparation equipment
- Assist in preparation of meals for service
- Prepare food and ingredients for service.

**Desirable Skills and Experience of the Kitchen Assistant**
Here at Minehead Nursing Home, we provide support for your role as Kitchen Assistant from our friendly team. Previous experience within a health care setting is not essential; however, may prepare you better for the role.
