**Job summary**:
We are the newly created Department for Business and Trade (DBT) which brings business and trade together into a single economic growth department. The department coalesces the business-facing parts of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Department for International Trade (DIT) and will be a powerful voice for business in government. It brings sector, markets and regulation experts together with world-class trade negotiators and business support teams across the UK and the international network to make the UK the best place to start and grow a business - helping create the business growth that contributes to better jobs and higher wages and living standards. The department spans the business and regulatory environment, works to support investment and exports, and opens new markets through removing trade barriers, signing trade deals, and supporting businesses to operate both at home and abroad.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to join DBT’s Strategy Unit, a team sitting at the heart of the organisation. You will join a dynamic team which works closely with Ministers and Senior Officials within the department to set and deliver the department’s priorities and objectives. The Strategy Unit is a supportive team, and will give you the right tools and training to succeed and help you to develop your career further.
**Job description**:
You will work as part of a team to deliver exciting and varied work, such as:
- Drafting high quality briefings for Ministers and Senior Officials to support their cross-government engagement.
- Working with colleagues across Government to progress priority workstreams and strategies on key government priorities such as economic growth.
- Account managing a specific area of the department’s work, ensuring effective delivery against Ministers’ strategic priorities and alignment with the analysis and finance functions.
- Project managing key departmental processes, such as the ODP and fiscal events.
**Hybrid Working**
Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.
Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.
Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London weighting.
For this role, the Department will not consider sponsoring a visa or issuing a Certificate of Sponsorship. Please note we are unable to offer advice on any Visa and Immigration cases.
