Gas Heating Engineer Installations

Our Gas Heating Engineers will complete gas appliance installations (the majority of which are gas boiler installations) to Gas Safe and other recognised industry standards and CHP standards. You will be expected to deliver the highest standard of work ina way that sustains high levels of performance, quality and customer satisfaction with a right first time approach, and proactively support CHP's expanding capability in the installation and repair of Air and Ground Source Pump heating systems.

**What you'll be doing**
- To undertake gas heating engineering & plumbing duties relating to gas appliance installations and associated works
- Undertake the installation of new domestic heating systems in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, industry best practice codes and practice and legislation
- Issue notices and certificates required by the relevant regulations relating to gas safety
- Provide information to allow records to be updated following service and test and issue Landlord Gas Safety record using electronic or manual documentation
- Manage stock from authorised suppliers, materials required to undertake works through the approved order system.
- Take part in the on call system to provide 24/7 emergency cover across CHP's property portfolio
- Drive company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and to ensure that the vehicle is maintained to appropriate standards
- Complete all relevant training and certifications as required by regulations and CHP
- Use a PDA and mobile software to receive and record works, ensuring that all system administration is accurate, up to date, accessible and comprehensive, in line with CHP procedures, data legislation and regulations
- Assist in ensuring the correct schedule of rates are booked for works carried out to meet value for money targets
- Conduct all work to comply with current health and safety (H&S) legislation and compliance policies, including manual handling, working at heights and asbestos awareness, with method statements and risk assessments undertaken where appropriate

**What we are looking for**

**Qualifications**
- NVQ Level 3 / Craft Certificate in Domestic plumbing or relevant trade qualification
- Gas related qualifications - Domestic: ACS, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, HWSS1,
- Entry level qualifications in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent, including good communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel

**Experience, knowledge and skills**
- Experience of working in a gas heating services installations environment and delivering works using a multi - skilled whole job repair approach
- Completed and spent the required period on a gas apprenticeship (time-served) or significant experience in the gas trade including the installation of boilers, fires, hot and cold water systems, and full heating systems
- Relevant experience working in occupied homes
- Ability to analyse heating system problems and deliver solutions
- Electrical qualifications / experience is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of health and safety, safe working practices, manual handling and compliancy in the workplace
- Basic IT skills and prior use or understanding of mobile PDA devices
- Ability to undertake works out of hours

**Desirable**
- CMDDA1, WREG
- BPEC Air and Ground Source Heat Pump Systems NOS mapped qualification (as recognised as a competence for the Microgeneration Certificate Scheme)
- Electrical qualifications
- Relevant qualification in health and safety

- The salary for this post will be **£40,000 OTE Per Annum**:

- 25 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays and 3 extra days between Christmas and New Year
