Yard Operative

The Weighbridge Operator (Yard) reports to the Weighbridge and Loading Supervisor and in their absence the Battery Process Supervisor.
- Ensure all activities are undertaken according to priorities, schedules and procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with current PPE standards at all times.
- Ensure correct PPE is available and used at all.
- Use current best practice at all times. Maintain standards of operational performance, housekeeping, H&S etc.
- Attend health monitoring sessions and blood lead sampling as required.
- Check H&S equipment - fire extinguishers, fire hoses, eye wash bottles etc. - are in good condition.
- Liaise with Weighbridge & Loading Supervisor to rectify any problems that cannot be solved within the team.
- Liaise with other process workers, Team Leaders and other personnel in any relevant department to ensure smooth running of the area.
- Ensure the Weighbridge & Loading Supervisor is kept up to date with job status at appropriate times.
- Undertake training as required.
- Work to operating procedures and Job Instructions, ensuring sufficient familiarity with them.
- Report any incidents or accidents immediately to your line manager.
- Attend and participate in briefing and toolbox sessions.
- Undertake any duties allocated by the Weighbridge and Loading Supervisor, Site Co-ordinator or other senior managers as and when required.
- Ensure any relevant plant routine checks are undertaken.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the Yard & Weighbridge area above the agreed minimum standard
- Ensure all operational data is collected and presented in the correct format.
