**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**

A number of exciting opportunities have become available within the Financial Crime AML team, supporting the customer screening activities specifically.

The main purpose of the role is to review, investigate and report potential money laundering and terrorist financing concerns. Also, to consider and recommend ways to improve our financial crime prevention measures and increase staff awareness of indicators of potential money laundering / terrorist financing.

The job holder will also support their financial crime fraud colleagues and the Financial Crime Manager, where required.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Working agreements in real time which have been identified in Fircosoft FSK to decision suspected Terrorist, Sanction and PEP alerts.
- Identifying and investigating potential matches and escalate confirmed matches within agreed service levels.
- Conducting enhanced due diligence (EDD) file builds.
- Updating and maintaining the PEP and High-Risk registers.
- Completing Dow Jones checks where required.
- Supporting and assisting Financial Crime Manager, where required.
- Submitting Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) for any money laundering / terrorist financing concerns identified
- Dealing with or escalating any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework

These responsibilities are under continuous review should the workload or requirements of the role change.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Knowledge of UK Regulatory Framework and requirements, particularly relating to Money Laundering and terrorist financing.
- Demonstrates ability to build commitment to change
- A high level of accuracy, with attention to detail
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills
- A decisive and inquisitive manner
- Ability to work under pressure
- Planning and organising skills ensuring effective time management
- Good analytical skills
- A team player, whilst also being able to work autonomously, using own initiative to resolve queries
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.

**Other things you need to know**
The hours of work are currently from 9am to 5pm for Monday to Friday each week. However, the team will be moving to a shift rota covering from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday plus all day Saturday and Sunday. Average weekly hours across the rota, will equate to 35.
