The Council's Housing Renewal and Adaptations Team is committed to providing vulnerable clients with disabled adaptations and other forms of housing grants and loan assistance to enable them to remain living safely and independently within their own homes.

The Principal Surveyor will be responsible for the economic, efficient and effective management of specialist multi-disciplinary teams of officers focusing on providing Disabled Adaptations in Private Sector Housing and Council Housing stock and housing repair grants / loans.

The Principal Surveyor will assist managers on all aspects of service delivery and provide support to the Programme Planning and Delivery Manager - Renewals and Adaptations. Duties include the management of the Adaptations and Housing Renewal technical functions and in-house Agency Service teams.

The post holder will also carry out surveying duties including surveys of properties, preparation of drawings, specifications, schedules of work and other tender documentation. To prepare grant approvals, variations, final accounts and payments and inspect works in progress to ensure proper standards of work.
