In this role you'll partner with the UK Finance Director (direct reporting line) and the other UK finance teams reviewing our finance system.

**This role will be central to delivering the following -**
- Selection of a new finance system
- Full review and mapping of existing General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes (there will be some documentation available already but will require upgrading and harmonising into a uniform mapping exercise)
- Working with the heads of each of these teams to evolve/revolutionise processes as required to obtain the optimal benefits from the new IT system
- Helping the UK CFO to design a business case and return on investment for the system rollout
- Lead the overall project team which will include representatives from the existing teams
- Conduct workshops and consultations to help choose a new finance system and implementation partners.
- Work across the different functional areas (including Procurement, Commercial, Business Insights and FP&A) to understand reporting and data requirements from the new system.
- Gain a full understanding of UK financial controls requirements (both current and in a future “UK Sox” environment) from the new finance system.
- Coordinate the preparation and updating of testing scripts for all required financial processes for pre rollout testing procedures and Conference Room Pilots.
- Become the primary point of contact with the new system vendor/IT partner and work with the teams there to deliver the project to agreed timelines and budgets.
- Create and run training programmes (in conjunction with the project team) and run sessions as required across the business.
- Prepare and own Standard Operating Procedure documentation of all agreed end to end processes that have been built around the implementation.

**Other Finance Transformation Activities**
- Work with the UK CFO to review current UK finance team structures and help plan, design, and implement any required changes to evolve the teams optimally to meet the current requirements of the UK businesses.
- Manage a UK legal entity simplification project that is currently underway.
- Plan and implement the future legal entity and finance system structures of all current and future UK acquisitions (c. 1-2 a year).
- Assist the Payroll Manager as required in a planned new Payroll system rollout.
- Become the UK finance team point of contact on other IT projects that are taking place around the business e.g., new HR system.

**How you can help us**:

- Qualified accountant with experience working in a fast-moving, high-volume sales environment. Whilst a PLC, and a substantial business, the corporate culture remains fast paced and entrepreneurial.
- Prior experience in a similar type of finance transformation role is an essential requirement for this role.
- The finance teams are based in the Newbury office mainly with flexible working arrangements. The role will ideally be based there but there is also the option for this role to be based in our London office with travel to Newbury and other locations as required.
- Experience of managing, motivating and developing a project team is essential.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Comfortable switching from a ‘hands-on” and operational mindset and style to a broader strategic one as required.
- Extensive experience of MS Excel is also a requirement; knowledge of SQL/Power BI would be useful but not essential.
