**WHO WE ARE?**

We are recruiting for a configuration manager/system engineer for a prestigious client in Southwest London to work on a portfolio of Defence projects. Our teams are what lead us forward and we are therefore looking for the best talent to join us as we continueto bring the best to the table.

**WHAT WILL THE CONFIGURATION MANAGER / SYSTEMS ENGINEER BE DOING?**
- Ensuring that Configuration Management processes and plans are compliant with industry standards.
- Identifying and providing training to internal and external stakeholders.
- Conducting internal and external audits to ensure compliance with Configuration Management processes.
- Managing tool upgrades and licensing with vendors (e.g. Windchill and SAP).
- Overseeing Configuration Management and planning activities during each stage of a program's lifecycle (including resourcing, funding, and capability).
- Identifying and recruiting personnel to fill any gaps in the CM function's capabilities.
- Maintaining Configuration Baselines according to industry standards and system requirements.
- Ensuring that product definitions are correctly identified.
- Providing configuration status accounting and metrics reporting.
- Representing Configuration Management within the NGUKL organization and presenting as needed.
- Chairing Configuration Management meetings, such as Change Control Boards (CCBs).
- Identifying and managing transversal activities to drive ongoing development.
- Setting development objectives for team members and ensuring they are met.
- Managing the Configuration Management budget and ensuring a positive return on investment.
- Performing well under pressure during internal and external audits.
- Promoting the benefits of Configuration Management to stakeholders.
- Leading, coaching, and developing the Configuration Management team, using established policies, processes, and procedures for people management, compliance, and governance.

**WHAT SHOULD THE CONFIGURATION MANAGER / SYSTEMS ENGINEER HAVE?**
- Strong knowledge of configuration management tools, best practices, and industry standards.
- The ability to guide and direct project teams on proper configuration control for major programs or multiple smaller programs.
- Experience with PLM/MRP/ERP tools such as Windchill and SAP.
- Strategic thinking skills and the ability to lead process improvement initiatives from start to finish.
- Proven experience in Configuration management and team leadership.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE INCLUDE**:

- UK Government working practices
- Experience in conducting internal ISO 9001 audits.
