This post is designed to support the research in conduction system pacing. Conduction system pacing is a new form of pacing in which the pacing lead is implanted in a position to allow capture of the heart’s natural conduction system. The aim is to provide normal physiological ventricular activation. The post will support the PROTECT-HF trial which is a large multicentre randomised control trial assessing whether conduction system pacing results in improved outcomes compared to right ventricular myocardial pacing in patients with a bradycardia indication for pacing. The post will also involve running a study investigating whether we can develop methods for automated ECG analysis to establish whether conduction system capture has been achieved.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Collation of large ECG data set collected during conduction system pacing, which will be used to develop novel ECG methods for detecting the presence of conduction system capture. Will include AI.
- Support the running the PROTECT-HF trial, which will include providing medical supervision of investigations and collection of clinical data.
- Collect data for study designed to develop a streamlined CSP implant process. The aim is to facilitate CSP in centres which don’t have advanced cardiac electrophysiology mapping systems
- To develop suitable techniques, and apparatus, for the collection and analysis of data
- To identify and recruit participants to the clinical study

**Essential requirements**:

- Medical qualification with registration at the General Medical Council
- Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP
- (UK) or equivalent national/international qualification in medicine or surgery.
- Experience
- Good computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Clinical training and experience
- Track record of technical and scholarly excellence as demonstrated by publications and/or research experience
- Experience in the cardiac catheter laboratory
- Knowledge of pacemaker programming
- Knowledge of basic research methods and statistical procedures

**Further information**:
This is a Full Time and Fixed Term role for 12 months based at the Hammersmith Campus, London.

Salary upon appointment will also include an additional London Weighting Allowance of £2,162 per annum (pro rata if applicable)
