With a new five-year Programme of Work to 2028 in place to deliver on the shared ambition, an opportunity has arisen for a key project role to co-ordinate and monitor all activity related to the Programme of Work.

Reporting to the Strategy and Performance Manager within the Business Strategy Team, this role will involve providing support to senior officers, project managers, and support staff across the council to help co-ordinate the planning, resourcing, and delivery of activities associated with the Programme of Work.

You must be educated to degree/SVQ4/HND standard or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have experience in project management and in the implementation of business change and stakeholder engagement.

A key aspect of this role will be to ensure an effective, consistent, and standardised approach to the co-ordination of a range of related projects and/or programmes of work to support the council’s wider strategic planning, corporate oversight, and monitoring and reporting arrangements. This will require experience of strategic and operational planning, resource management, financial management, change control, information management, quality management, risk and issue management, progress monitoring and reporting, and performance management.

Building strong relationships, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and providing clear communications will be a key aspect of this role. You will do this by following, and ensuring, a consistent approach to project management, change management, and governance.

You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team within Business and Digital who currently operate a hybrid model of home-working and office-based work at the Civic Centre office in Motherwell.
