Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.
An exciting new programme to transform electronic prescribing across all care settings is underway by NHS Wales. Led by Digital Health and Care Wales and sitting within the Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio, the Electronic Prescription Service programme will work with Primary Care providers and other stakeholders to digitise the prescription process. This will enable prescriptions to be created and sent electronically and for information on patients’ medicines to be accessed by both patients and their care providers.
We are looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual who is able to work, learn and actively contribute within a project team environment. You must be passionate and committed to providing the highest levels of service. Working in a busy environment, you will face a variety of competing priorities that will require a flexible approach combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and attention to detail are necessary skills for this post.
We are looking for project support professionals who have the enthusiasm, creativity and skill to help deliver projects that provide better patient care. We want people who consider project management as a craft and are diligent in supporting to deliver projects as part of a wider programme that meets the needs of users. Teamwork and collaboration are important to us.
You will assist our Project Support Managers in key high-level areas:
- Support the delivery of a wide variety of projects within the Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio
- Provide project and organisational support to the project and programme managers
- Monitor progress of projects
- Set up and maintain project files
- Administer project and programme meetings
Other areas of the role will be to work with our customer organisations, Welsh Government, other health services and wider stakeholder groups.
This is an excellent opportunity for those with project support experience who wish to work at a national level.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

To support the delivery of a variety of projects within an DHCW programme
To provide project and organisational support to the Project and Programme managers and the project boards
To set up and maintain project files
To administer project meetings
To work with the project manager in the production of the required products
Responsible for the production of specified deliverables in a work package
Responsible for in the preparation and completion of routine and ad-hoc reports
Responsible for the production of specified deliverables as defined by project management team members
Keeping records of project correspondence and project expenditure
To support the project team with complex activities across projects
Prepare all event and meeting documentation
To minute meetings and produce minutes as required
To develop and maintain information systems to accurately store and analyse project data
Maintain change control and any required configuration management
Assisting the project manager with drafting the Project Initiation Document
Assisting in the preparation of project documentation e.g. project stage reports, benefit realisation plans, exception plans, business justifications
Updating project plans and monitoring the delivery and key milestones
Drafting highlight reports
