Gis Support Officer
**About The Role**:
**Everything Happens Somewhere (in North Norfolk)**
The role of GIS Support Officer is vital to the Council’s growing use of mapping and GIS data to improve Customer Service and to give context to Council Activities.
You will assist with the management, development and implementation of modern innovative uses of GIS and spatial data to support the Council in its service delivery and contribute to the future direction and use of GIS across the whole range of Council provided services.
In this role, you will promote the use of GIS as a strategic data system by proactively supporting business processes that would benefit from the use of GIS systems and data.
**About You**:
You will have experience in supporting web-based GIS and the data it makes accessible and have a keen interest in expanding your knowledge and experience to help shape the future of GIS at NNDC.
You will be passionate about using GIS to give context to data in all its forms, and will have experience in deploying, managing and developing web-based GIS infrastructure. You will be comfortable in both working within a team or prioritising and managing your own schedule to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
With an eye for detail and the aesthetics of web-based mapping, you’ll contribute to developing GIS solutions to a wide variety of business requirements.
For an informal discussion please contact: Sean Kelly on

**About Us**:
We're committed to promoting equality of opportunity for the people and communities of North Norfolk. We respect and value difference in our district and across our workforce, and we want everyone to feel included and able to play their part in making North Norfolk a great place to live, learn, work and visit.
Our coast and environment are really important to us. We are part of Coastal Partnership East, an organisation with responsibility for our coastline from Holkham to Felixstowe in Suffolk. We have a net zero strategy, and a team of people working to deliver these important initiatives.
As one of the largest employers in the district, we offer a number of benefits that are open to all employees. We have a really supportive culture of enabling our people to learn and grow through attending courses, e-learning, and their day to day job roles. Our office in Cromer is clean, modern and light with onsite lunchtime catering.
We have an active health and well-being group with a new strategy, mental health first aiders, domestic abuse change champions, employee assistant program, and employee discounts portal.
We have a great forum for communication with regular updates from Directors and Chief Executive, employee voice through our Staff Focus Group, and great working relationship with Unison, our onsite recognised union.
Most people that work for North Norfolk District Council are able to enjoy a great work life balance, as part of our hybrid approach to work. If your role supports hybrid working, all we ask is that you have a stable and reliable internet connection.
In terms of the numbers, if you are new to the public sector, you’ll enjoy 24 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, and when you’ve been with us for five years, this increases to 29 days (assuming the role is full time). We provide access to a great pension scheme, based on your local authority career average earnings.
