**Java / Kotlin Microservice Engineer - London / Remote (MUST be UK Based)** We have partnered with a company that is building a new Microservice Engineering team and as they scale up, they are looking to make several Senior hires over the next few months. As Microservice Engineer within this new team, you'll be building a brand-new Distributed System that is made up of highly available, highly secure, and highly scalable APIs. These APIs will in turn power a whole new set of Financial Products and Servicesvia an award-winning Mobile Application that is used by tens of millions of people around the world, every day We're looking to speak with people with strong Kotlin and/or Java who can demonstrate the ability to build elegant solutions to highly complex problems. You'll be part of the Mobile Engineering team whose mandate is to develop new interactive experiencesacross this new suite of products and platforms. A real opportunity for professional growth, we are assembling a large team of engineers, product people, designers, and QA. You will all work to build an "everything ground up from the "Backend to the Front" API layer consumed by Award-winning mobile apps. - Building robust server-side API's - Experience building large-scale Distributed Systems - Comfortable using and developing various build tools - Continuous Integration - Writing Asynchronous code - Performance Analysis and Optimization - Improving or deleting Legacy Code - Unit tests - Open Source - Integrating with bespoke lovingly hand-crafted backend services from the days of yore - Designing solutions for open ended problems - University degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience Relevant technologies that you may encounter: - Kotlin or Java - Gradle - REST - GQL To learn more about these roles, please submit your CV or reach out to brent.chambers at methodcloud.co.uk
