About The Role
**Location**:Croydon, CR2
**Days & Hours**:Full-time, Part-time and Bank hours available in line with the 2-week rolling rota. Typical shifts in term time are Monday - Friday, 3pm-8.30pm and Weekends, 8.15am-8.30pm. Shifts in the School Holidays are Monday - Sunday, 8.15am-8.30pm. There will be Bank cover available for Day and Waking Night shifts (8.15pm - 8.30am).
**Pay**:Team Leader**: Weekdays and Team Leader duties: £16.00 per hour, Weekend days: £17.00 per hour, Weekday Waking Night: £17.00 per hour and Weekend Waking Nights: £18.00 per hour. Should the Team Leader work outside of their normal contracted hours the pay will be Weekdays, Days and Waking Nights: £14.50 per hour and Weekend, Days and Waking Nights: £16.50 per hour
**Support Worker**: Weekdays: £13.44 per hour, Weekend days: £14.58 per hour, Waking Night Weekdays: £14.50 per hour, Waking Night Weekends: £16.50 per hour
**Driver required? **Essential (will need own car to get to work)
**Driving Clients Car? **Yes, our client's Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV),
**Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? **Yes, on duty and to attend trainings
**Essential**:Experience supporting Clients with complex care
**Desirable**:Experience working with trauma and an interest in rehabilitation and therapy
**Pets**:2 dogs
**Accommodation (while on duty)**: Fully adapted family home
Thomas born in 2004, has a very good sense of humour and enjoys social interactions with others. He enjoys community activities, watching television and YouTube, as well as participating in sensory stimulation in the kitchen. He lives with his family and sees other family members on a regular basis.
Thomas is quadriplegic and has a profound brain injury, along with epilepsy. He has 2:1 day care and is dependent on his support team to enable him to live at home and access the community. Thomas is looking for dedicated people to join his care team.
**Support Worker role**
You will be guided by Thomas’ team of therapists to provide a high standard of care and to optimise his rehabilitation. You will support Thomas with all aspects of his personal care, support therapy and medication along with helping him to access school and leisure activities. This role requires close liaison with his parents and family members. This role would suit someone who is experienced in complex care and self-motivated to achieve the best outcomes for Thomas and make a real difference to his life by maximising his rehabilitation.
**Team Leader/Support Worker role**
As well as providing hands on care for Thomas, as outlined above, we are looking for a Team Leader to manage Thomas' care team. The role will involve leading and co-ordinating the current team by managing the rota, keeping care plans up to date, supporting the care team, carrying out supervisions and appraisals with the team, checking and submitting timesheets and take responsibility for the team's contact notes. There will be administrative hours set aside each week for the role. The role will involve working additional hours, sometimes at short notice to ensure there is cover in place for Thomas. A flexible approach is essential in being available to address any urgent issues which may arise such as covering staff sickness, care team issues or in the event of an emergency.

**Support Worker role**
- Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
- Experienced in complex care.
- Confident and comfortable working in Thomas’ own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of his family
- To have an understanding of gastronomy and administering medication
- To have an understanding of non-invasive ventilation. Training can be provided.
