Apprentice Graphic Designer

We are a well-established and reputable commercial design and print company and supplier of print-on-demand products via our own Ecommerce site and via several platforms like Amazon, EBay and Etsy. We are looking for additional witty and creative apprentices to join our team. This is an excellent career opportunity to join a friendly and ambitious company.

Your role will involve creating new products and listing/uploading them using our multi-channel management software. These new products will need to follow popular cultural, media and online trends. You will also be required to ensure that new listings have relevant imagery, keywords and descriptions to have maximum visibility through our online outlets.

**What will the apprentice be doing?**

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Demonstrating creative talent
- Interest in print processes
- Website design and updating for clients, SEO (CMS ecommerce)
- Print artwork editing & graphic design
- Working in visual graphics for digital marketing and design
- Manage content and social media platforms
- Prepare and design content using key software such as Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Improve websites copy to be more compelling towards our target audiences
- Help create marketing campaigns for product growth and lead generation
- Evaluate important metrics that affect our website traffic, user engagement, and target audience.
- Work with our team to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies.

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**

Level 3 Digital Marketer Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:
BCS Digital Marketer Level 3
Google Analytics IQ

The structured part of your apprenticeship training will be provided by Furness College

You will also learn on-the-job, working alongside experienced colleagues.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

**Your role will involve**:

- Working closely with the other members of the team, both locally and at our other UK sites.
- Ensuring product listings are SEO, eye-catching and displayed correctly on each marketplace.
- Responsible for creating unique product descriptions and keywords.
- Ensuring that product details (colours, sizes etc) that accompany an item are correct and follow current guidelines.
- Ensuring that all product images are upload and displayed correctly on all websites.
- Amending existing listings to improve conversions by identifying/resolving issues.
- Researching and identifying any new product lines that can be added to our existing portfolio.
- Ensuring that all files are compliant with our file structure and workflow systems.
- Reporting on best and worst sellers online.
- Other duties as and when required, full training given.

**Qualifications**:
GCSE or equivalent English & Maths (Grade C (4) or above) Essential
**Preferred skills**:

- A keen interest in Ecommerce and social media.
- Ideally be interested in a future career in (Design/Journalism/Communications/Marketing/Promotion).
- Have strong IT skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Be able to work on your own initiative & independently.
- Keen interest in current trends with commercial awareness.
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal).
- High attention to detail with ability to proofread own work to ensure all output meets acceptable grammar and punctuation standards.

**Job Details -**

Successful applicant will be based at our Barrow in Furness offices, but may be required to travel to other sites for training purposes

Hours - Monday-Friday - 9.30am to 5.30pm (37.5 hours per week)

One day per week to work on your coursework either onsite or day release at the College

28 paid holiday days, including Bank Holidays
- Salary - £12,000 pa plus annual bonus (depending upon experience)
- Six-month probationary period
