**Transport Administrator**:
To manage Runcorn UK & Export transport operations & warehouse operations ensuring Customer Orders are shipped as stated & scheduled, ensuring the department is run efficiently and safely to meet the demands of PPG Runcorn’s customers.
Main Responsibilities:
- To ensure all Customer Order scheduled shipment dates are met & to communicate any delays to Customer Services Team & Planning ensuring the systems are updated to reflect the delay and the reason for the delay.
- To provide/confirm IFS Package Structures against each shipment.
- To provide IFS Pick Lists to the Picking Team 3 days in advance in accordance with the Shipping schedules.
- To book all shipments as per the shipment schedules with the appropriate freight forwarders.
- To provide/confirm “Brexit” Commercial Invoices to the freight forwarders against each EU shipment detailing total sales costs/total weights & confirming brokerage details
- To ensure the highest possible service levels for Runcorn transport operations including accurate ETA customers, confirming freight costs, providing freight quote requests where necessary, and ensuring the Haulier KPI Reports are completed as applicable.
- To advise upon any freight, transport & customer service queries as applicable.
- Ensure implementation, consultation and advise on all aspects of transport regulations concerning the carriage of Dangerous Goods (DGSA).
- Ensure and maintain required levels of training for the Despatch department (i.e. Road, Air and Sea freight).
- Assist with the compliance of Airfreight Security Programme with the DfT.
- Promote Health and Safety best practice.
- Adhere to and manage the health and safety guidelines as determined by the Health and Safety Policy and the findings of any subsequent risk assessments.
- Liaise with Production Manager, Shift Managers and Production Planner regarding any potential issues.
- Carry out such additional duties as may reasonably be required by the Supply Chain Manager and Runcorn Site Manager.
Essential:
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment to tight deadlines
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing methodologies including Kanban/MRP
- Time management skills and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a fast paced, high achieving team
- Ability to process/manage Lean principles such as FIFO
- Computer literacy required including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- CRB Check at the basic disclosure level
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
