**Job description**:
The Cost Analyst will provide guidance, control and administrative support which assists Technology with IT cost management. Reporting to the Commercial Domain Lead they will support senior management in managing the day-to-day operations and activities ofthe Technology budget. This is a full-time role which requires excellent numerical skills and good customer service capabilities. Please note this is maternity cover for a minimum of 12 months.

**Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of accurate monthly divisional and area cost reports, providing detailed analysis of monthly expenditure reporting to be shared with budget managers and their teams to enable them to manage their budget effectively
- Ensure that all Managers in Technology are compliant with agreed processes for managing spend
- Working with the senior management and Finance Business Partner to define Technology’s annual budget and operate within Central Finance Cost controls.
- Analysing divisional cost performance and making longer term forecasts whilst recommending ways of cutting costs, providing information for audits, and working with the senior management to make decisions
- Undertaking and the processing of divisional spend, including tracking of invoices and purchase orders.

**Role Requirements**:

- Previous experience in an analytical role is **essential**.
- Using financial management systems (such as **Cognos **or** Coda**) to extract monthly expenditure and use excel to manipulate the data for analysis
- Accurate checking of spreadsheets against invoices and purchase order details to ensure costs are treated correctly on a monthly basis
- Attending and leading multiple monthly meetings to provide Technology managers information on monthly expenditure and future forecasts
- Providing analysis of cost profiles for both Direct and Staff spend categories to senior management.
- Being able to **manage administrative processes** for payment of invoices in Technology, ensuring compliance to Bank wide policies
- Have an understanding on the Bank’s expenses policy.
- Understands IT operations and has **knowledge of IT cost and budgetary management**:

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Knowledge of portfolio and risk management techniques associated with budget management
- Knowledge of the Bank’s finance processes on accruals and prepayments
- Knowledge of the Bank’s project and estimating processes
- Experience of managing budgets and reporting to Stakeholders with focus upon P&L and depreciation including risks and opportunities associated with managing a large IT budget.
- Valid Security Clearance
