Job Title Operations Assistant

Reports to: Duty Manager/Centre Manager

**Overall Responsibilities**:

- To provide support and assistance to customers and other staff members.
- To present a professional image to all customers
- To teach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming techniques and skills and build their confidence within the water.
- To ensure the safety of all those in your care.

**Main Duties**:
Ø To plan and deliver lessons according to skill set/age of students

Ø Identify individuals abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential

Ø Correct incorrect swimming techniques and through evaluation and positive feedback help to improve performance

**Customer Service**:
Ø To promote our excellent reputation and carry out our business appropriately and professionally at all times

Ø To consistently create and promote a welcoming and supportive environment for customers and all visitors

Ø To maintain the highest level of customer contact, keeping complaints to a minimum

and ensuring these are dealt with professionally and promptly and to always inform Management.

**Health & Safety**:
Ø Ensure safety standards and risk assessments are used and followed, undertake further risk assessments if required

Ø To comply with all requirements regarding Health & Safety such as Company COSHH and HACCP regulations.

Ø To assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and hygiene and to ensure that safe working practices are followed. To report any problems to your Duty Manager

**Personal**:
Ø To be punctual in attendance.

Ø To attend Training and Development courses as required.

Ø To maintain high personal hygiene standards and comply with company dress standards.

Ø To report any unauthorised absences to the Manager in person as per company guidelines.

Ø To assist in the smooth running of the department at all times, especially during times of sickness, holiday etc.

**Qualifications/ Training**
- Current NPLQ

**Knowledge/ Experience**
- Awareness of health and safety practices in relation to pools and sports facilities.

**Skills/ Abilities**
- Able to understand and follow instructions
- Able to motivate swimmers and build their confidence within the water
- Ability to supervise customers and deal with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
- Ability to obtain a recognised lifesaving qualification and maintain fitness levels to effect pool rescues when required
- Positive role model to swimmers
- Create a fun, positive environment for children and adults to swim in.
- Provide a safe environment for education

**Special Requirements**
- Flexible approach to work ie, evenings and weekends

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £6.82-£9.50 per hour
