If numbers are your thing and you associate ‘Sage’ with efficiency and accounting software as opposed to cookery, and ‘Excel’ with powerful spread-sheeting as opposed to exhibitions, then you probably speak ‘finance’ and we may well have an opportunity to interest you.

We are an Academy Trust operating in some the UKs most challenging areas and employ amazing teachers, brilliant support staff and a whole host of dedicated people in our central functions. One of which is Finance. But **as a result of an internal promotion**, we are looking for a new and ambitious team player to join our team.

The workload for a Finance function in a Trust of 52 schools and over 5000 employees is understandably high, so. you will need to be resilient and have a relentless focus on achieving the highest standards, with the ability to work as part of a team serving three academies in London.

As one of two new Finance Assistants you will work primarily from home (with occasional days in our London office) dealing with transactional processing, purchase and sales ledgers and balance sheets for our academies across the London region You’ll thrive in a world where orderliness and attention to detail is expected and where you derive great joy in things adding up just as they should.

Want to put your numerical, logical brain to good use - here’s what we are looking for:

- Experience with Transactional processing: Purchase ledger, Sales ledger, Receipts & Payments.
- Purchase ledger maintenance: BACS payments, reconciliations, debit balances, supplier account creation
- Sales ledger maintenance: Invoice management, debt chasing
- Bank Account maintenance: Reconciliation, filing, administration, payment runs
- Finance systems: creation of accounts, resolve queries
- Other duties: from credit card queries to ad hoc support to colleagues.
- Able to travel into our London office approximately once per fortnight and occasionally to our London academies if required.

Ideally you will have worked and be familiar with finance systems before and you will definitely be an advanced user of Excel. You’ll be reliable, accurate and willing to get stuck in as part of a collaborative and highly supportive team. Our 2 qualified accountants will be great mentors as you progress along your own qualification journey towards ACCA or AAT.
