**Community Health Champion coordinator** **Area: Community Engagement Team** **£24,200 plus** **1 years Contract** **Interviews to be scheduled this Friday 22nd of April** Excellent opportunity for a strong Customer Service individual to join this leading Local Council situated in Fulham Southwest London You will provide advice and guidance for residents, community and voluntary organisations and key partners by supporting the delivery of engagement activities around health, wellbeing, and inequalities in accessing health and council services. The initial focus of the role will be on the continued Covid recovery and health and wellbeing of our communities. To support communities to act together for the common good, working with them to help to increase their sense of pride and community spirit. To listen to communities by holding face to face workshops and activities to understand their local priorities and barriers they face and working with them to overcome these barriers accessing health and council services. Use feedback to inform service improvements in both health and council settings. To champion community priorities with other departments to enact change and better outcomes for our residents. Provide support for residents, communities, third sector voluntary organisations and key partners to deliver effective community engagement activities that are inclusive of the diverse communities in the council and identifying the needs and requirements for those communities. Promote the council's services and policies by signposting to information and activities that will positively impact communities. **Role Duties** - Listen to communities and understand their local priorities by taking meeting notes, developing action plans and reporting back to the Community Engagement Team, Building Trust Steering group and other relevant services. - To develop, co-produce and run workshops and activities in partnership with different community groups and the voluntary sector to address health, wellbeing and inequalities issues for those residents and communities. - Build professional working relationships and build trust with new and existing community groups and voluntary organisations in the council; with regular meetings both in-person and online including one-to-one listening, building networks and resident-led action. - Support the Community Outreach Officers with engagement work to identify and document community priorities, needs and problems in relation to the Building Trust programme and steering group's objectives and priorities. - Assist voluntary groups alongside Community Outreach Officers to co-produce resident-led health and building trust activities and workshops addressing community priorities, needs and problems including vaccine hesitancy. - Provide council support at resident-led activities and workshops. - To support the delivery of the Council's priorities, empowering communities and voluntary groups to take the lead. - To support the empowerment of under-represented groups within local communities, bringing people together for common causes and promoting joint work. - " To enable community groups to develop by providing project support and training opportunities. - To support the wider team with support to deliver the council's approach to community engagement, health and wellbeing, social, digital and financial inclusion. - Support the Community Engagement Team to deliver high-quality communications to our residents and key stakeholders. - To deliver various projects relating to the community engagement strategy, working to the ethos of co-production and co-design. - To champion community priorities with other departments, actively undertaking case management to resolve issues. - Promote inclusion and ensure that the views and needs of residents with protected characteristics are represented in all engagement activities, making sure that coproduction is central to our work. - Ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard and compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other relevant legislations. - Carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Council's Health and Safety Policy and relevant Health and Safety legislation. - This role offers a combination of community-based work, online engagement, and work from the main office or home.
