**JOB TITLE**: Operations Manager

**REPORTS TO**: Business and Finance Manager

**HOURS**: 37.5 hours

**THE ROLE**: An exciting new opportunity has arisen at the Westrop Medical Practice as an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is a crucial post to manage the delivery of all services to the patients and staff. They will oversee the efficientfunctioning of the premises and ensure they are operated in a cost effective, reliable, ethical and customer-focused manner.

The purpose of this position is to lead and develop a team with the Business and Finance Manager to deliver consistent operational excellence, lead from the front and provide support to Senior Management and Partners.

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Previous management or supervisory experience of staff.
- Direct experience of running either: a practice, business or key function.
- Proactive approach and willing to get involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the practice.

You may be a retired Practice Manager or someone with highly transferable skills and experience, looking to develop their career with a forward thinking team. **ABOUT US** We currently serve a population of over 33,000 patients in five locations, three are semi-rural locations on the edge of the Cotswolds, one in the centre of Old Town and one in North Swindon.

**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB**

- Excellent communication skills

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide administrative support to the Practice as per their direction, including preparation of correspondence, documents and reports, research, scheduling etc.
- Provides secondary back-up support on telephones.
- Responsible for assisting with the management of assigned budgets.
- Takes initiative and makes decisions.
- Prioritises projects and uses time effectively.
- Respond to enquiries and answer questions from patients, attached staff and others and refer them to an appropriate person as necessary.
- Performs other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all employees of the practice.
- Systems administration, ensuing data is up to date and accurate
- Dealing with compliance requirements
- Property and facility management
- Day to Day operational management of the practice, staff and its functions
- Have strong experience of general practice, financial and HR experience
- Have the ability to demonstrate relevant experience in the development of a business
- Be proactive and motivated
- Have good computer skills
- Be able to think quickly and take initiative
- Have a proactive and organised approach to Health and Safety
- Have a track record of successfully leading a team.
