**What is the purpose of the role?**
We are currently seeking two **Regulatory managers**to operate as a key player in the economic regulation team, providing high quality economic regulatory advice and analysis (including pricing and tariff matters) to senior management (executive/board).This role works across the business to protect and enhance the long-term interests of Thames Water.
**What makes this role unique?**
Working in a small team, this stimulating role is hugely influential in terms of how we develop as a business and support our customers.
With the changes in utility regulation in general and with PR24 now in progress you will be getting involved at a very exciting time and will play a key role in our PR24 and business development success.
**What will this role involve?**
You will -- Provide high quality specialist economic and regulatory advice and analysis on a wide range of economic regulatory issues (including pricing and tariff matters), using detailed quantitative and econometric analysis
- Provide a source of economic expertise to assist the business in analysis of areas of complexity to ensure the business makes business decisions based on robust quantitative analysis of the issues
- Communicate key findings from complex analysis to a wide range of audiences including senior managers and executive team in a manner suitable for the audience
- Draft and manage responses to Ofwat consultations on economic and regulatory issues and engage actively across the industry on regulatory issues
- Provide particular economic expertise either in areas of TOTEX efficiency modelling, interpretation of willingness-to-pay data and development of outcome delivery incentives or pricing and tariff matters
- Provide expert economic and quantitative advice and analysis on a range of issues to support the annual business planning cycle and to develop strategy and tactics for the quinquennial review of price controls
**What skills are required for this role?**:
- Have a thorough **understanding of regulatory and pricing issues**:
- Be a passionate individual with **strong commercial awareness and mindset**, with the ability to make logical and well thought out decisions
- Have **excellent IT and first-class communication and presentational skills** - including the ability to communicate complex regulatory issues to non-specialists
- Be a **highly organised and analytical** individual with a strategic/project management background within a similar business
- Experience in **Market and behavioural economics** is highly desired
