Working with our clients to identify data and insights to help form policies and strategies to help shape our council of the future.

Do you have in depth experience of understanding, analyzing and identifying business data needs and delivering insights to support the delivery of business outcomes. Do you have a technical grounding of Microsoft Azure and PowerBI visualisation tools? Do you have a keen eye and enthusiasm to identify areas for technical improvement and be proactive in your approach to work with others in taking initiatives forward?

If so, opportunities have arisen for data technical engineers and experts to join Cornwall Council's Information Services Data and Information Team.

We are looking for a Leading Data Specialist with demonstrated experience in data manipulation, processing, management, and test design. Proven experience of data visualisation, good communication skills, the ability to use data to tell a story and experience in a range of tools including PowerBI to drive data solutions across our organisation.

As a large unitary local authority, we have access to multiple data sources to improve the performance reporting, utilising analysis capabilities through access to dashboards and insights and as a data specialist you will be proactive investigating new opportunities to use data to support decision making and improving service delivery.

Interfacing with the wider team, you will have opportunities to contribute to team service requirements, assist on research and product development, and contribute to proposed designs for data solutions to meet the outcomes required.

We have adopted an Agile approach to delivery, aligned to Scrum, so you will need to be flexible, adept at working in sprint cycles and comfortable with rapid fail fast principles. We want to remove the bureaucracy from traditional IT delivery and work closer with our customers in iterative deliveries.
