Data Engineer role at Cornwall Council. Job Description It’s an exciting time for our Information and Data Team to continue to support the Digital Transformation and the Performance and Business Planning Service of the Council. The data engineering team assists in the design and implementation of data flows that connect operational systems, analytics and business intelligence systems, according to departmental or organisational policy. As part of a team of data specialists and engineers, the successful candidate will ensure services are delivered and used as required, provide specialist technical support to projects, and continually improve our services through the use of data and insight. Key Responsibilities Design, implement and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes. Ensure data solutions and services meet industry and organisational best‑practice standards, service requirements and KPIs. Provide technical support and assistance to projects, ensuring delivery of data requirements. Identify and resolve real‑time business problems, presenting findings to customers in a clear, customer‑friendly manner. Maintain compliance with statutory English language, criminal record disclosure checks and safeguarding principles. What You’ll Need To Succeed Strong analytical skills to diagnose root causes and recommend effective solutions. Excellent communication skills to explain technical problems to a wide range of colleagues. Proven experience in a data support environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Working Pattern The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and is subject to our Flexi‑time scheme. Benefits A competitive salary.
