EMEA GPS - Private Markets Product Team - Private Markets Strategy Associate

Function Overview

The GPS Private Markets Product Team partners with distribution and investments to translate the needs of clients across multiple segments to deliver a differentiated private markets offering. The team drives product initiatives across all asset classes: infrastructure, private equity, private debt, real estate and multi-alternatives. This includes the design and delivery of commingled open-ended and closed-ended funds, our franchise vintages, custom client mandates, and targeted product solutions. Bringing exemplary partnership, product expertise, sustainable product design, and a commercial mindset, we aim to accelerate BlackRock’s private markets business in EMEA through a cohesive product platform and expertly designed private markets solutions.

The Private Markets Strategy Associate role leads market and competitor intelligence and supports GPS leadership in formulating commercial product strategy for the private markets business in EMEA.

Role Objectives
- Conduct periodic strategy deep dives into client segments and product categories, in support of BlackRock’s growth drivers in private markets
- Monitor, analyse and articulate private markets product trends across client segments in EMEA, including Wealth, Pensions, Insurance, Official Institutions and Family Offices
- Monitor new product launches and developments, be curious and enthusiastic about private markets, and competitor product offerings
- Own delivery of the BlackRock private markets product calendar
- Attend key industry events and support thematic client engagements
- Define and run periodic screening of BlackRock and competitor product platforms to identify differentiation opportunities

- Understanding of private markets, industry trends & regulatory framework.
- Strong knowledge of BlackRock’s business
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Top-class analytical mindset and aptitude
- Intellectual curiosity to develop product, market and client segment expertise
- Broad understanding of sustainability trends and needs of European clients
- Alternatives product and corporate strategy experience is preferred
