Salterns Marina is looking forward to a very busy boating season again this year, to be able to service our growing number of customers we are looking to expand our customer service by increasing our hands on roles within our Marina.

Our busy boatyard has a vacancy for a Yard Hand to work with our experienced team.

As a Yard Hand for Salterns Boatyard you will be:
A team player, have a strong work ethic, be professional at all times, you will be reliable and have good timekeeping.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Carrying out boat hoist operations to meet both internal and external customer requirements.
- Using Power washer to clean vessels.
- Carry out boat movements within Boatyard and car park hard standing.
- Boat maintenance for customers as detailed on job cards by service department.
- Ensure that boats and customer equipment is left in a clean and tidy fashion, report any damage (fault or non-fault) to the Yard Foreman, Service Manager or other Company Manager immediately.
- Operate as part of the team to ensure that at all times there are adequate numbers of staff to carry out day to day functions.
- Ensure Yard machinery and vehicles are maintained in a clean and tidy fashion
- Carry out regular safety checks of yard equipment.

This is very much a 'hands on' role and and will consist of operating a 45 tonne travel hoist, Merlo telehandler and Fork lift.

The role also involves working with the Marina bosuns to carry out boat movements within the marina.

Hours : 42.5 per week Mon - Friday 8am - 5pm with half hour lunch.

Commencing hourly rate: tbc
