Summary We have an exciting opportunity to lead a small team of welcome staff and volunteers at our sites, Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House.
As Welcome Manager, you'll head up the staff & volunteer team, on nominated weekends and bank holidays, to welcome our visitors and help them enjoy their visit.As the most senior person on site, you'll lead and empower your team to respond to customerenquiries and site issues and be the face of the National Trust. You’ll be experienced in managing people, delivering outstanding customer service and leading on risk management.
What it's like to work here You'll be working across two sites, Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House. These properties work collaboratively and many of our team members also work across both sites.
Packwood House is a captivating 16th century Tudor manor house renowned for its fine collection of têxtiles and elegant gardens. The team is focused on conservation projects, as well as providing an exceptional family-friendly visitor experience.
Baddesley Clinton is a moated manor house with 500 years of fascinating and unexpected stories. In addition to our stunning mansion, it boasts a Walled Garden, uplifting estate walks, a shop, restaurant and book shop.

What you'll be doing You’ll have overall responsibility for the team, and their safety and working practices, working closely with the Visitor Experience & Operations Manager to develop the site offer.
Who we're looking for You'll need to have the following skills and experience:
- Good practical experience in visitor business,in tourist, heritage or relevant visitor services environment
- Naturally curious about people, and with a passion to and experience of delivering the highest standards of customer service
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confident leader, adaptable and responsive under pressure
- Ability to initiate service recovery without senior support
- Good IT skills (all MS Office)
