Interim Head of FP&A, 6 Months, outside IR35
Axon Moore are working with a leading business based in Salford Quays who are looking for an interim Head of FP&A for circa 6 months with a potential to go temp to perm.
The Interim Head of FP&A will report to the Group Financial controller and will mentor a team of management accountants.
You will be responsible for the preparation of timely and relevant financial information to mee the needs of Senior Management across the group. The coordination and completion of the groups annual budget and forecasting process and the liaison with the keystakeholders in the business to obtain understanding of key financial trends in results and any variance to budgets / forecasts.
**Duties**:

- Lead, mentor and develop the management accounts team
- Direct and guide the team to develop the accounting and reporting systems, practices and procedure in accordance with the current legislation and the latest developments in all applicable accounting standards.
- Direct, support and motivate staff to ensure that the responsibilities outlined are carried out effectively and to a high standard, and act as a positive role model to others.
- Work closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate in relation to business requirements
- Responsible for mentoring the team, doing one to ones and performance reviews
- Preparing and reporting actual results v budgets/forecasts, variance analysis and narrative on monthly results
- Leading the month end accrual and prepayment calculation and other nominal ledger journals
- Cost centre review and analysis
- Preparing additional supporting analyses and KPI’s to fee into monthly reporting packs
- Preparation of key reporting information, liaising with applicable managers to ensure that costs are being properly recorded and managed and variances investigated and explained.
- Product / Sector profitability reporting
- Ensuring balance sheets reconciliations completed for accrued and deferred income
- Ensure the annual budget and forecasting process in coordinated across finance and the wider team.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders through the budget and forecast process
- Develop the use of software tools to ensure robust budget and forecast process
- Produce 12 month rolling forecast P&L on monthly basis
- Provide detailed P&L for the compliance team
- Assist with analysis of key working capital items
- Other ad hoc duties to suit the business needs.

Person Specification:

- Qualified accountant
- Experience as Head of FP&A
- Experience of large ERP systems
- Advanced knowledge of excel
- Excellent teamwork ad interpersonal skills
- Business process improvement background
- Strong analytical skills
