One of the Largest Transportation consultancies in the UK are looking for a Senior Engineer to join their Midlands team, you will be given the opportunity to work on some of the most nationally significant in the UK including HS2 Phase 2A and the A14 £1.5billion upgrade with National Highways.

Their office locations are Birmingham, Derby and Nottingham and you can work from any of them twice a week and the rest from home to suit your work life balance. When working a as a Senior Highways Engineer in this consultancy you will be expected to beresponsible for your own individual highways projects within major frameworks. Putting your name to schemes with National Highways, major D&B contractors and a huge amount of local authority major projects.

The main part of your role as a Senior Highways Engineer will to be taking a leading role in detailed design of these major projects so previous experience of Civil 3D or OpenRoads and design of Alignments, Link Roads and Junctions is essential. You willalso be liaising with the client and stakeholders regularly to effectively deliver these schemes.

Senior Highways Engineer Responsibilities:

- Leading highway design delivery for various multi-disciplinary projects.
- Overseeing the production of design documentation for highway schemes, including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications to programme and budget.
- Check and review of deliverables produced by project teams.
- Assisting with the preparation of fee offers for agreement with the client.
- Working collaboratively across the Atkins Group.
- Developing more junior staff by technical training and mentoring.

Essential Senior Highways Engineer Requirements:

- Experience in highway alignment design including links and junctions using Civil 3D and OpenRoads.
- A thorough comprehension of technical standards relating to highway design.
- Experience of client interface in conjunction with other senior staff.
- Proven ability to advise clients on technical matters.
- Proven ability to coach and develop team members.
- A willingness to work flexibly to deliver projects to time and budget.

Desirable Senior Highways Engineer Requirements:

- Project Management experience of highway projects.
- Experience of design and build highway projects.
- Experience in identifying and seeking approvals for Departures from Standards.
- Qualified Road Safety Auditor (Team Member / Observer).
