**The opportunity**

We have a brand-new opportunity for an experienced Claims Handler to join our growing team here in Guiseley. Reporting to our Group Claims Manager, this is a key role that will be responsible for undertaking the case management of insurance claims made by clients and provide excellent customer service in line with FCA and Company guidelines.

**Key areas of responsibility include**
- Responsibility for the administration of all classes of commercial and personal lines claims
- Dealing with claims including but not limited to Household, Travel, Motor, Public Professional, Employer Liability, GIT, and Directors & Officers liability
- Identifying suspicious, complex, or high value claims and raising these with management
- Creating new claims files upon notification of a new claim and record using IT software
- Ensuring all claims follow the policy conditions and consult with senior management or legal representation if necessary
- Processing claims quickly and correctly, working on behalf of the client/customer and liaising with Insurers as appropriate
- Ensuring all business activity fully complies with FCA regulation and company procedures as detailed in the Conduct Polices and Guides to Best Practice

**What we’re looking for**

Claims Handlers are vital in ensuring that JMG Group clients have a professional and compliant case management experience. To be successful in the role, you must have the following skills.
- Previous experience in a Claims Handler role working for a Broker or Insurer
- Knowledge of the end-to-end claims process
- Knowledge of the basics of insurance cover for policies
- The ability to work to a high level of accuracy and detail
- The ability to prioritise and follow processes effectively
- Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers
- Regulatory and compliance awareness
- Strong IT skills
