As the Junior Quality Engineer (Engineering Assistant), you will aim to ensure that theproduct or service our client provides is fit for purpose, correct against the drawing, is consistent and meets both external and internal requirements. This includes legal compliance and customer expectations.
As Junior Quality Engineer, you'll coordinate the activities required to meet these quality standards.
Your role is concerned with monitoring and advising on the performance of the quality management system, producing data and reporting on performance, measuring against set standards.
You will need to liaise with staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, you'll advise on changes and how to implement them and assist in training, tools, and techniques to enableothers to achieve quality standards.
**Responsibilities**
To carry out all inspections such as first off, last off, incoming and outgoing goods, of detailed parts, assemblies and documentation in a timely and efficient manner, using mechanical or electronic measuring equipment.
Responsible for verifying components meet specification and customer requirements using detailed drawings, the customer's condition of supply, company procedures and layouts.
Final release of parts to customer including raising and signing certificates of conformity.
Action and complete First and Last Article Inspection reports as per customer requirements.
Responsible for the non - conformance process. Interface with customers, suppliers and personnel on quality requirements and non-conformances. This includes reporting all component and documentation non-conformances using the appropriate documents and formsto the relevant Team Leader and Supervisor.
Complete Production Orders and associated documents in relation to the component being Inspected/Released and maintaining relevant records.
Ensure the equipment being used is in calibration, accurate and fit for purpose and it is their responsibility to notify the relevant person/department if this is not the case.
Update the Production Planner by updating it/providing information that is requested on it.
Positively support teamwork and circulation of experience within the workforce, including but not limited to the operation and logistic teams.
Maintain good level of productivity.
Work in a safe manner in compliance with company Health & Safety policy. Report and log Health & Safety incidents that occur.
May occasionally be required to represent the company at external audits and customer liaisons.
**Academic**
Maths GCSE Grade 9 to 4 (A* to C)
English GCSE Grade 9 to 4 (A* to C)
Engineering Qualification (preferred but not essential)
**Key Competencies**
Accurate, Precise, Numerate, Literate, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
**Salary**
£21,000 - £23,000
Working towards a Quality control qualification with in-work or day release course work.
**Working hours**
A working week is 37 hours, with the working day taking place between 8AM and 5PM Monday to Thursdays and 8AM to 1PM on a Friday.
