**We’ve got an incredible opportunity, that doesn’t come around every day, for an Assistant Designer to join our Nutmeg Team at our office in Coalville (Leicestershire).**

Our Nutmeg Design team are fundamental in starting the product development process; they are responsible for delivering the season's key colour palettes, key shapes and prints for our ranges. They work with our suppliers to develop great fabrications and thoughtfuldetails into our styles. They liaise closely with the buying, merchandising and the technical functions to analyse sales and build the ranges together, and are always exceeding our customers expectations in terms of quality and product.

As an Assistant Designer, you’ll assist in the designing, development and sampling of a range of product that is in line with the brand values. You’ll also develop effective working relationships with both suppliers and internal colleagues. Ultimately thiswill lead to you taking full responsibility and ownership for designing a designated area within the department you are working in.

**As an Assistant Designer, you’ll be responsible for**:

- Demonstrating an awareness of the customer profile, current trends, inspirations, colours and competitors to be able to provide feedback and support design ideas.
- Producing comprehensive and finalised design packs for use by the product team and suppliers as directed by the Designer/Senior Designer.
- Creating positive working relationships with suppliers, whilst participate in supplier meetings to effectively help design and develop products in line with Nutmeg design values with the support of a Designer.
- Developing skills from all sources that will support taking greater responsibility to enable management of own area within the department.
- Assisting in the department strategy, demonstrating an understanding of the customer profile to actively contribute and make suggestions.
- Working closely with the Technical team on product specifications to ensure the correct fit and quality.
- Contributing to key design team meetings and departmental meetings by sharing feedback, information and research findings.
- Actively contributing to the design and buying departments’ strategy, range builds and sign-off meetings.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of production, merchandising and supply chain.
- Assist the design team in identifying key statements, colours and key lines to drive sales by actively contributing and making proposals for any opportunities.
- Awareness of the business and own departments weekly and seasonal sales and profit figures
