Are you a strong and entrepreneurial leader, with outstanding stakeholder management skills and experience of leading a successful pipeline line of innovation that spans direct delivery through to working in partnership? Could you build relationships that deliver a sustainable approach to cancer support, accelerating Macmillan’s impact on people living with cancer for today and the future?

**About the role**

The future experience for people with cancer will be fundamentally different to what it is today. There are huge opportunities in medical technology, cancer services innovation, and system change that could significantly improve how people are diagnosed and treated, as well as how cancer is managed as a long-term condition. There are, however, also huge challenges ahead, from lack of funding to workforce shortages and inequity of care. As Macmillan’s Head of Innovation, you will be focussed on the core question of how Macmillan can continue to deliver impact to people with cancer in the coming 10 years in this rapidly changing landscape of health.

**About you**

You will need to deeply understand the external market we are operating in, identifying the opportunities that could transform the experience of people living with cancer and, crucially, define what Macmillan’s role could and should be in the future of cancer care.

You will need to be a big thinker, able to balance an analytical and creative approach to strategy development that enables you to solve individual and systemic challenges through the adoption of new technology, innovation, and market opportunity.

You will require excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills as we seek to forge partnerships across the public, not-for-profit, academic, and private sectors to develop solutions that, through cumulative assets and capabilities, can be both transformative and financially sustainable. You will also be relentlessly focused on improving health equity in all that you do, designing for the most disadvantaged and ensuring that the needs of people with cancer are at the heart of everything we do Macmillan.
