We have a fantastic opportunity at our newly refurbished office in Lichfield for a high performing, motivated, hands-on Transport Planner.

As our Transport Planner you will be responsible and accountable for
- Planning our vehicles effectively to achieve OTIF (On Time In Full).
- Ensure all customer collections are achieved.
- Changing schedules to meet customer/network demands.
- Liaising with drivers and colleagues to ensure all day-to-day activities are met to the highest possible standards.
- Ensuring our drivers are delivering OTIF and reporting delays effectively.
- Trouble shooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment.
- Managing of Company expectations by ensuring drivers are effectively using in-cab technology and obtaining Pod’s eta’s and relevant paperwork.

Skills & Attributes:

- Experience of a pallet network operations is essential for a fast-moving traffic office.
- The ability to utilize and manage drivers effectively.
- Full training for the in-house systems will be provided, however a good knowledge of computer skills will be required.
- Good geographic/and road network knowledge of the DE/WS is essential.
- Flexible approach with regards to working hours
- Able to work under pressure in a time-critical environment.
- Previous experience of working with Transport Planning and Management Systems, would be advantageous.
- Well organised with an acute attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

To be successful in this role you’ll have been a transport planner for at least a year, with a proven track record, experienced in planning, very strong communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with other departments.
