**Role and Responsibilities**:
Childcare & Education:

- Ensure the practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the early years foundation stage.
- Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
- Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant local authority departments.
- Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow safeguarding procedures.
- Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
- Provide professional and relevant feedback to parents/ carers about their child.

Health & Safety:

- Undertake a shared responsibility for health and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
- Adhere to all heath and safety policy and procedures.
- Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures.
- To assist with monitoring of equipment to ensure that it is kept to a high standard of safety, reporting on anything which may compromise on safety or play value.
- Keeping of accident records within the playroom.
- To carry out daily risk assessments within the playroom area.

Operational:

- Support the nursery manager during inspections by regulatory bodies and assist in the implementation of any recommendations.

Communication:

- To attend and contribute all staff meetings.

Personal Development:

- To participate in training sessions to build upon own current skills and those of the whole nursery.

General:

- Laundry duties.
- Supervision of mealtimes and break times as appropriate.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonable.
- Comply with HR policies with respect to equality and diversity, H&S, confidentiality etc.
- Report child protection concerns to ops manager and comply with the child protection/ safeguarding policies.

**Required Skills**:
Good IT skills - knowledge of different computer packages Numerate and Literate Good communication skills Ability to work to tight timescales Able to work as part of a team, as well as individually Able to deal with children/parents sensitively and keep information confidential

Using their expert knowledge gained from time spent in the industry, we’ve tailored our programmes to use the most up-to-date tools and technologies so that the skills we create can be used directly in the workplace. As one of our learners, you’ll benefit from coaching, help and guidance from our dedicated team whose job it is to ensure your success. Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Apprenticeship qualification.

**Required Qualifications**:
Maths, English and ICT, GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent

**Training**:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Business Administration Level 3Apprenticeship qualification, with training how to: Contribute to the efficiency of an organisation through the support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested.
