**SEND Teaching Assistant**
justteachers is seeking a compassionate and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Harrogate area on a long-term basis. This is a full-time role, set to begin in **September**with shortlisting currently taking place.

The school supports children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and moderate to severe learning needs. With a strong focus on inclusion, the staff team works collaboratively to ensure every child is supported emotionally, socially, and academically. The school promotes a nurturing approach and values teamwork, communication, and consistency.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND, both inside and outside the classroom
- Assist the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and engagement
- Help create a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all learners

**Pre-requisites**:

- Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or health and social care (desirable but not essential)
- A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting learning and behaviour
- Two recent education or school-based references

- Special education: 1 year (preferred)
