**SUMMARY**:
To support the Finance Manager with the processing of Sales and Purchase Ledgers and contribute to month end procedures.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Credit control - providing customers with copy invoices; chasing payment of overdue invoices.
- Reconciling Inter company balances and transactions on monthly basis
- Code creation in Finance software.
- Contact customers within the designated time frames to ensure that any queries are answered in a timely manner.
- Due diligence of new / existing customers and Assessing Customer credit worthiness.
- Obtain Experian report and Allianz insurance endorsements for the new / additional credit limits.
- Ensure debt is recovered by due date and follow up outstanding accounts issuing letters as required.
- Request and follow up for Credit Limit for new and existing customers.
- Preparing Debtors ageing as per required reporting time scale and reporting overdue accounts.
- Preparation of Bad Debt memo.
- Update Cash flow - AR and Treasury side.
- Finalising A/R - checking if all advances applied to respective invoices and checking any credit balances to be allocated.
- Preparing Retention List on monthly basis & follow up with QA.
- Preparing Cut Off Register and Checking with PODs after month close.
- Purchase ledger - coding and processing approved staff expense claims into the accounting system. Analysis of VAT element of expense claims
- Supporting the month-end process - eg travel expense accruals for outstanding claims.
- Support the annual external audits - documentation gathering, supplier statement reconciliations and query resolution.
- Ad hoc duties as required in line with your role & responsibilities.

Our **Finance Assistant** should have:
- Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting or Finance
- Knowledge in Accounting Software - Dynamics preferable
- Ability to adhere to stringent reporting timelines and meet reporting deadlines
- Experience working with financial information and spreadsheets
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365
