Our client is a well-established, PE backed, manufacturing SME based in West Yorkshire. The business has had one or two challenges in the last couple of years, mainly due to the pandemic, however they are now working on an ambitious turnaround plan. Theyare looking to recruit a high calibre Finance Director to join the board and deliver effective financial control, on time and accurate reporting, and detailed management information to support this.
The role will be hands on, providing accurate and effective financial control across the business with key responsibilities including, but not being limited to:
Ensuring smooth running of finances for the business.
Production of monthly management accounts and MI as required for both the business and external investors.
Production of Statutory accounts and liaison with company auditors on all account and tax matters.
Management of the finance team.
Assist the executive team to achieve their goals and objectives by accurate financial insight and analysis.
Assist directors in preparing and achieving overall company growth strategy (including forecast company cash flows, budgets, and forecasting).
Treasury management including cash flow and forecasting.
Development / replacement of the financial reporting system.
- A qualified Accountant with experience in both practice and industry.
- Be able to demonstrate strong progression in their career to date.
- The ability to lead, manage and develop a finance team ensuring continuous professional development, driving improvements and standards.
- Experience working in a private equity / VC backed business.
- Proven turnaround experience.
- Demonstrate a strong technical competency in financial accounting and reporting, whilst also being able to produce highly accurate and insightful monthly management accounts.
- Any experience in a fast paced, rapidly expanding business, setting up processes and systems is highly advantageous.
- Have a strong commercial instinct, capable of supporting the business on commercial decisions including investment appraisals and acquisitions.
