**Job summary**:
The Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) Team is located at HQ Air Command. A small but busy team, they are responsible for supporting the mission 'To deliver the people aspects of the RAF Strategy and build a work force fit for the future - through increased retention of a more engaged, diverse, and innovative workforce, enabled by an enhanced career and talent management system'
An opportunity has arisen to join TCoS as an Executive Officer with a focus on assurance and compliance within the team setting. This role will support SO2 TCoS to provide quality assurance for all team processes and procedures. Additionally there will be line management responsibilities for Administrative Officers within the team.
This post offers the opportunity for some work to be delivered remotely once training is complete, as approved by Line Management/Chain of Command and in accordance with Head Office guidance.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
**Job description**:
The role is varied and wide ranging, duties will include:
- Develop a thorough understanding of policies, processes and procedures relevant to TCoS
- Carry out maintenance and management checks on all TCoS registers/spreadsheets on a regular basis. Ensure all AOs are carrying out their weekly checks
- Run JPA reports, analyse the information and identify any data cleansing or rectification work required.
- Allocate suitable data or rectification projects to team AOs
- Run continuous improvement (CI) events on a regular basis
- Update or design new processes and or procedures as a result of CI events
- Liaise with SNCO policy/training with regards to policy updates and training required as a result of CI events
- Be able to analyse data and source statistical information for FoI or SC requests
- Manage and update the TCoS SPOL sites
- Manage and update the TCoS website page
- Engage with the SCIO development team and understand how to integrate its use within TCoS
- Engage with external stakeholders as required
- Understand the processes carried out by the TCoS teams to include:
- Allocate tasks appropriately within the team to ensure all work is being covered
- Cover for SO2 TCOS and the other SO3 TCOS as required
- Carry out other duties, commensurate with your grade and appropriate to the work of TCOS, as detailed by Line Management
Additionally there will be line management responsibilities for the team AOs in accordance with Civil Service and RAF managing staff guidelines.
**Person specification**:
This role is suited to someone who is highly organised, confident in using IT and enjoys being part of a high performing team.
A broad familiarity with the Armed Forces and the RAF in particular with some knowledge of RAF organisation and terminology.
Strong IT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and SharePoint. Experience using databases is desirable.
Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.
Well developed inter-personal skills.
The ability to prioritise effectively balancing the needs of the team and customer base.
