You will be joining a service which aspires to provide care of the highest quality, in collaboration with those who use our services. We embrace continuous improvement and learning and as a Specialist Nurse you will be instrumental in leading the service to think differently, be innovative, and give everyone, at every level, the skills they need to lead change.

Typical skills used within this roles (you can learn or develop) include central line access, managing BCYP on home oxygen therapy, administration chemotherapy, enteral feeding, airway management, long term ventilation, advance care planning, symptom management and holistic assessments. You get to develop your autonomous working whilst being supported by a team of junior sisters and clinical team leads across our nursing specialities.

The team is also integrated within the wider multi-professional team with play and psychology (Diana Palliative care team) and community paediatric dietitians.

Previous community experience is not essential but you are required to have skills in clinical assessment, individual needs assessment and care planning, alongside the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary, multi agency team. Good communication skills are a must alongside a flexible and forward thinking attitude.
