This is a 24 months Technical Project Manager Modern Apprenticeship role in conjunction with Capita Learning and Skills Development Scotland.

**Job title**:
Project Management Technical Apprenticeship (24 Months).

**Help strengthen our team as our Project Management Apprentice for a 24-month fixed term contract. Based in Glasgow.**

A great opportunity to join our team as our Project Management Apprentice to work with our experienced Project team where you will be mentored and work on delivering the Scottish Wide Area Network programme.

The Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) is one of the most significant single public sector ICT initiatives ever undertaken in Scotland.

The programme was set up to establish a single shared network and common ICT infrastructure across Scotland’s entire public sector.

**What You’ll Be Doing**:
You'll be expected to achieve some learning outcomes by the end of your apprenticeship. These include:

- Understand your work environment
- Help to develop a business case
- Support processes about procurement (buying), contracts and quality-management
- Plan projects, including budgets
- Manage project risks
- Prepare project documents and reports
- Communicate effectively
- Organise and manage meetings
- Lead and support teams
- Develop good practice, including ethics and professionalism
- Develop meta-skills through reflection, coaching, feedback, and personal development.

Capita is a Real Living Wage employer - Annual salary will be £19,305

Hours are 37.5: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with an hour break

**What we’re looking for**:
For entry into a Technical Apprenticeship in Project Management, we look for:

- Minimum age for entry to this apprenticeship is 16 years
- You should hold a minimum of 2 Highers (one of which should be English at grade C or above) and National 5 Maths - or the equivalent qualifications at SCQF levels 5 and 6
- Ability to communicate with colleagues and customers in a courteous manner, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and customers at all levels
- Confident in dealing with day-to-day project/delivery issues as they arise, and mitigating risk where required
- Must pass Basic Disclosure checks that are updated on a regular basis
- Desire to build own project management knowledge.
- Self-motivated individual with flexible approach to working.
- Strong written and oral communication skills

**Desired Skills/Experience**:

- Project Support/Management experience/understanding
- Prince 2 certified or equivalent

This role will also consider existing workplace skills and experience, for example if you're changing careers or upskilling.
