**Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (HLS)**
This new part-time (0.3FTE) post is available from 1st September 2025 on a fixed-term one-year basis, in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.
**The post**
The Faculty wishes to recruit a 0.3FTE Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Dr Jo Butterworth and team. This NIHR-funded post is available from 1st September 2025 for one year in the first instance. The successful applicant will plan, conduct and analyse qualitative ‘think aloud’ interviews with those living with multiple long-term conditions and/or their carers, from culturally diverse populations. The work will address the hypothesis that Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) in the coproduction of a shared decision-making intervention has ensured an inclusive, relevant and responsive intervention. We propose to test the feasibility (applicability and acceptability) of patient-facing materials in this study, ahead of evaluating them in a future trial. Patient and public involvement in the development, interpretation and dissemination of findings will also be key.
**About you**
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and have relevant research skills in order to work within the research programme.
**Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.**
**What we can offer you**
- Freedom (and the support) to pursue your intellectual interests and to work creatively across disciplines to produce internationally exciting research;
- Support teams that understand the University wide research and teaching goals and partner with our academics accordingly
- An Exeter Innovation directorate that works closely with our academics providing specialist support for external engagement and development
- Our Exeter Academic initiative supporting high performing academics to achieve their potential and develop their career
- A multitude of staff benefits including sector leading benefits around maternity, adoption and shared parental leave (up to 26 weeks full pay), Paternity leave (up to 6 weeks full pay), and a Fertility Treatment Policy
- A beautiful campus set in the heart of stunning Devon.
