Student and Academic Services is responsible for providing a broad and diverse range of services to all our students, including Admissions, Graduation, Student Welfare, Careers & Employability, Student Finance and Academic Quality. This is an exciting timeto work in the Careers and Graduate Success Team, known as DMUworks, at De Montfort University. The University operates various successful employability programmes, activities and initiatives for students and graduates. In a rapidly changing labour marketand Higher Education context, we continually focused on providing an innovative approach to provide all our students with opportunities for flexible work experience and critical employability skills development.
**_Role_**
The Internships Team is responsible for providing two hugely successful, DMU-funded schemes for current students and graduates who have delivered over 5000 quality internships since 2012. Part of a broader team co-ordinating employability and skill developmentacross the University, the Internships Co-ordinator will, under the direction of the Graduate Success Officer, be responsible for the operational facilitation of the internship projects, including the Frontrunners and Graduate Champions Schemes.
- Carry out processes such as recruiting students, graduates and employer partners
- Deliver workshops to prepare graduates and students for internship opportunities
- Work closely with colleagues across the University
- Ensure the internship schemes are administered effectively and efficiently
- Maximise the impact on crucial outcomes
The role is on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis. The position can be completed on a hybrid basis.
- Experience in delivering high-profile internship or placement schemes is essential
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong client management skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstratable experience in providing 1-1 support to students, staff and external contacts
- Experience in delivering presentations to large groups.
