A _**HSE OFFICER**_ is required for a career defining opportunity, to develop the health & safety culture further in a forward looking, growing company specialising in heavy manufacturing.

Reporting into the HSE Director, my client is looking for a confident, motivated HSE professional, who is keen to drive success further, looking after the ever-growing workforce. This role has come about due to growth, and this is an amazing opportunity for someone to join an established company, who are entering a massive growth phase.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the HSE Director to execute the company’s health and safety business plan, on the shop floor and engage with employees of all levels.
- Maintaining and improving health, safety & environmental performance.
- A big focus on the behavioural safety and working closely with employees to further educate and elevate understanding of their role, in relation to the company safety programme.
- Risk assess processes and generate documented safe work procedures.
- Application of error proofing processes to minimise possible residual risks.
- Ensure that statutory requirements are being fulfilled and progress is being made towards attaining “best practice”.
- Regular inspections and audits.
- Provide guidance to supervisors and operators with accident & incident investigations
- Facilitate the completion of problem solving reports and resultant corrective action.
- Responsible for incident reporting and the production of subsequent statistics.
- Give specialist dedicated HSE support to major maintenance and engineering projects.
- Identify HSE training needs and deliver suitable training providers.
- Deliver as the technical expert and manage internal/external relationships.
- Drive improvements and support the management of the HSE Management System
- HSE document creation and sign off

**Requirements**:

- BA/BS Degree or equivalent
- Strong manufacturing background
- NEBOSH diploma, certificate or equivalent
- Relevant Environmental Qualification
- CDM Coordinator (ideal but not necessary)
- IEMA or similar (ideal but not necessary)
- Appointed person (lifting) (ideal but not necessary)

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
