**Who we are?**

FCB Coffee is the fastest-growing speciality coffee company in the travel sector. Currently with ten sites, we are fast becoming the go-to destination for speciality coffee. We inspire our teams to consistently produce fantastic coffee through dedicated training and attention to detail.

**The shop will be open from 6:00 to 20:00 seven days a week.** **You must be able to get to Denmark Hill station for a 5:30 start and available to work morning and evening shifts. It is a full time role, 32 hours/week contract.**

**About the role**

Coffee wise, Head Barista is the most important position held in our shops. At FCB, we pride ourselves on serving speciality coffee and bringing speciality standards to our market. So, a well-equipped, skilled individual who can be the face and voice leading this message is crucial. Head baristas join the senior management team of their shop and are responsible for key coffee-related aspects of their shops.

**Responsibilities of the role**:
**Ordering**
- Ordering their shops daily and weekly supply of milk.
- Ordering their shops weekly supply of coffee.

**Systems**
- implementing a system for storing coffee effectively.
- Implementing a system for keeping retail displays presentable, clean, and up to date.
- Implementing a protective maintenance and cleaning schedule for their shop’s coffee equipment.
- Consistently evaluating the ergonomics of your coffee in your shop and suggesting positive changes.

**Training**
- Training Baristas in their team on the sensory and technical skills found in company’s coffee training guide.
- Developing baristas in their team to reach the highest standards and quality of coffee during everyday service, and maximise the potential of baristas in their shop who are capable of progressing through the roles of coffee available at FCB.

**Support**
- Supporting all their shops coffee related targets so they’re achieved.
- Providing good communication to the senior management team of their shop to ensure items related to coffee are also kept to adequate levels.
- Keep a direct line of communication with the Head of Coffee to for any needs and support.
- Keeping their shops wastage of coffee and milk to a reasonable level.

**Our Head Barista should**:

- Be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of extraction theory principles, equipment and milk preparation.
- Have excellent communication skills, with confidence and passion.
- Be organised and responsible for time management.
- Have a good working knowledge of equipment, with some maintenance skills. You will be working with La Marzocco Linea PB, Mythos One, Mahlkonig EK43, Marco Boilers.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a speciality coffee training or a related role.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- If you have SCA qualifications this is desirable, but not essential.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Ability to work weekends on occasions.
