An excellent opportunity has arisen for a **Head of Design or Senior Design Manage**r to join a family business in the Manchester area, a brand new role created with you in mind to start, develop and expand a Technical department in line withtheir already blossoming ambition to be the 'go-to contractor for affordable new build housing’ in the Northwest.

This is a business that has steadily bolstered their back-office teams during the last 3-4 years and establishing an in-house technical team with you as the Head of Design would be one of the final pieces. **They’re a land-led business with an excellent pipeline of work who build traditional and timber frame units for housing associations (with some steel frame above 4 storeys)** and because of that they’d require you to manage the entire processfrom planning through to completion and in some cases assisting with the Technical elements during the build. This is in addition to your excellent knowledge of Building Regulations and LABC Warranty standards.

If you’re **battling with ego’s in your current business or struggling to get things done you’ll be pleased to hear there’s no red-tape here**, you’d be running your own department with a Coordinator and an Apprentice and able to liaise withthe Directors and other departments which similarly have a flat structure. They’ll want to buy into your knowledge, adopt what you think are the best practices to work and also give you a flexibility to put your stamp on the role.

In return, they’re looking to pay around mid-£50’000’s plus a £4,000 car allowance for the right person - however there’s some flexibility on the conversation there depending on your background and experience. They offer a company wide bonus which is paidout to everyone based on profits and will be able to offer a quick interview and start for the right person.
