The role

We are currently seeking a Finance Officer to join our team. The main purpose of this role is to support on a variety of financial processes that contribute to the production of associated financial management information, supporting the team to deliver an exceptional financial reporting service. This is a trainee role, and we actively support study to obtain a professional accountancy qualification.

**Your main responsibilities will include**:
Supporting with budget setting, budget monitoring and providing financial advice to budget holders

Supporting the delivery of quality reporting service to the company

Supporting the production of monthly management accounts for specified areas of the company

Providing supporting evidence to external auditors

Producing reconciliation accounts to prime records

Supporting payroll production

Supporting the treasury management function, including the provision of daily cash flow information to management

This is a varied role where there will be an opportunity to study towards a professional accountancy qualification and gain experience of undertaking a wide variety of financial and accountancy related tasks within a technical finance team.

Have an understanding of management and financial accounts, internal control processes and accounting principles.

Show effective leadership including the ability to motivate, support and encourage colleagues

Have the ability to plan, organise and prioritise to ensure that both personal and team targets and deadlines are achieved

Have clear and effective communication skills

Be able to work effectively as part of a team

Be able to use your own initiative

Display an awareness of risk issues, particularly financial risk

Be familiar with computerised accounting packages

Have a relevant background in accountancy along with experience of producing financial statements

Have experience of writing reports, policies and procedures
