Liberty Speciality Steels currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Process Scheduler to join our Supply Chain Team. The role is designed to create production plans for operations to implement whilst maintaining the system design within the Rotherham site.

We are looking for the Process Scheduler to deliver the creation of optimised schedules for constrained processes, taking into account material and order flow through both upstream and downstream processing areas. This role covers the scheduling of processing in Thrybergh, steel make and casting in ACP, and supports shipping and transport activities for Thrybergh and sale semi’s

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Process Scheduler is a key role within the function that is accountable for
- Build and publish optimised schedules that satisfy customer demand considering promised delivery dates, ensuring complex scheduling and technical rules are adhered to, whilst levelling WIP to manufacture, achieving optimal flow of product, optimising inventory levels and maximising asset utilisation.
- Monitor internal supply chains to determine which strategy/corrective actions should be deployed.
- Identify and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity whilst informing management and Commercial when demand cannot be met and recommend alternatives on how the requested demand could be met.
- Managing priorities on processing and material launch into steelmaking, rolling and finishing operations
- Measurement of adherence to plan for operation, process flows, actual lead times and overdue.
- Measurement of all Raw Material and WIP stocks by location, process route, dwell time and age.
- Overdue - expedition of non-confirming and slow-moving product with Technical and/or Commercial
- Balancing forecasted demand against production for constraint processes and products where make to order is not the feasible option employing both forward and backward scheduling techniques as appropriate.
- Focus on continuous improvement within scope of responsibilities for developing, improving, and implementing sound material management practices and flow to minimise Leadtime and inventory
- Part of the duties are to provide absence and holiday cover for the Material Allocator Role

The Process Scheduler is required to have.
- The jobholder should be educated to HNC level or equivalent in a technical or business discipline.
- In addition, the jobholder will also have an understanding of management principles, be a good communicator and be able to interface with people at all levels of the organisation from team member up to departmental manager level.
- The jobholder should have extensive knowledge of the operation of the supply chain from order entry to despatch. Will be able to determine KPI’s required to monitor and manage the supply chain. Be able to provide plans capable of delivering manufacturing requirements in the short term.
- The jobholder must be ablet to work to tight deadlines as a primary interface between conflicting sales and production requirements.
- The jobholder must have the influence to positively direct and control daily production meetings.

Systems and procedures.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the planning, service delivery and distribution processes coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the processes and products produced.
- The jobholder must be IT literate, have experience of modern ERP systems and have demonstrable skills with excel spreadsheets, database and/or other equivalent software
